DYLAN HAMILTON

RHYTHM GUITAR

ALTO SAXOPHONE

COMPOSER/ARRANGEMENT

Dylan Hamilton is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Boronia, North East from Melbourne. Throughout his life, Dylan has been deeply exposed to a large array of music from all over the globe and through many time periods in history; much of which was played coupously within his household. Dylan learned to play multiple instruments very young, receiving piano lessons as well as picking up the nylon guitars that were dotted around his house. In high school Dylan picked up the saxophone and was exposed to a strong foundation of jazz harmony and composition while playing in school jazz bands and concert bands; as well as maintaining interest under passionate tutors.

Dylan, as of writing this bio, had not been an avid fan of progressive metal until only recently, much of that influence came from his closest friends to whom introduced him to acts such as Tool, Haken and Thank You Scientist. All of which were blasted in the many parties and social events that he attended. Though with many of these influences in place, Dylan doesn't forget the roots of his musical journey and still holds Jazz to being the most important style of music that forges the foundation of his compositions; citing Jazz legends such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane as well as contemporary Jazz prodigy, Jacob Collier.

Dylan holds a special place in his heart for Canadian Prog Metal legend Devin Townsend, to whom he looks up to as a role model, not just in a manner of modeling his characteristics but with his ability to create inhumanly high levels of music, efficiently and at a high standard. Outside of music, Dylan is an avid lover of literature, and spends a lot of his free time reading a lot of science fiction and fantasy novels. His favorite series thus far being the King Killer Chronicles by Patrick Rutherford.
