Simon Stemberger is a guitarist and composer from Regional Gippsland, Victoria. Earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance majoring in guitar at the College of the Arts in Contemporary Performance (Collarts) he is continuing in his music studies at the internationally renowned Box Hill Institute in Melbourne further studying music composition for multimedia application.

During his study at Collarts, Simon started AAVAA alongside the rest of the band members. Simon is responsible for most of the compositional elements of the repertoire of AAVAA.

Simon takes influence from multiple bands and people to formulate his own refined style of composition. 

in terms of genre they include;

-Prog bands Toska, Karnivool and Haken. 
-Metal bands Dorje and Alter Bridge, Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats with Guthrie Govan, Paul Gilbert with Racer X, -Polish group Percival Schuttenbach. 
-Norse band Wadruna.
-Film and game composers Hans Zimmer, John Powell, Howard Shore, Ramin Djawadi, Jeremy Soule, Tilman Sillescu, Adam Skorupa and Marcin Przybylowicz.

-Japanese music, particularly Yutaka Yamada.

Simon has a fairly obtuse obsession with guitars and accessories associated with them, owning and maintaining over a dozen guitars, a few amps and collecting many pedals and effects. Simon also has a keen interest in Japanese and Eastern European folklore and history.
